Netflix has joined our call to flip the script – on sustainability storytelling. By offering a variety of solutions-oriented movies and series, Netflix makes sustainability topics engaging and entertaining. Studies show that most people, especially younger generations, are concerned about climate change but often feel anxious about it. Netflix addresses this by providing diverse stories that promote hope and action.

Their collection includes everything from action-packed sci-fi adventures like “The Sea Beast” and “Sweet Tooth,” to feel-good romantic comedies such as “Falling Inn Love” and “Holiday in the Wild.” Shows like “Waffles + Mochi” and “Down to Earth with Zac Efron” make sustainability appealing by connecting it with food and travel. Additionally, stories featuring heroes and changemakers, such as “Spirit Rangers” and “Youth V Gov,” inspire audiences to take action.
They emphasized that sustainability can be explored through humor, romance, and suspense, moving beyond the typical doom and gloom narratives. By flipping the script, we aim to inspire and empower individuals to engage with sustainability in new and meaningful ways.
